Terry combats the TV Writers' Strike: Read a
book.
Novelists
don't strike.
We
write because we have to...not because our spouse wants a new
Beamer. Here are my suggestions:
For
something new, try Sara Gruen's Water for Elephants.
For
something recent: The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini.
For
something short: Sara King's The Moldy Dead. Yeah, it's
science fiction.
For
something you should have read in high school: try Sylvia Plath's
The Bell Jar. (It'll remind you of today's high schoolers.)
For
that classic: Try George Eliot's Middlemarch.
Books
will never leave us.
